CREATE mode guide
CREATE is the game's mini DAW: a small, friendly studio where you build a track from silence over a looping beat. Everything is live (you hear each change instantly) and everything is undoable. No music theory needed. CREATE is a full-version feature; the demo shows it as an upsell.
Starting a session
Pick CREATE from the menu and choose a length (0:30 to 7:00, with 1:00 / 1:30 / 2:00 presets), then pick a starting point:
- Blank canvas: a silent, seeded song. The key, scale and genre exist underneath, so everything you add fits together.
- Inspire me: generates a full song, then strips it to the beat so you rebuild it your way, chip by chip.
- From a vibe: pick one of 8 vibes (CHILL, HAPPY, DREAMY, HYPE, DARK, SAD, RETRO, FIERCE) and one of 3 energies, hear the actual scaffold before committing, and reroll takes until one clicks.
- Templates: 12 curated starting points like LOFI STUDY, CLUB NIGHT, NEON DRIVE, TRAP ANTHEM, EPIC TRAILER and JUNGLE SPRINT, each a genre, tempo lane and sound recipe, with the same hear-first preview.
A fresh session starts paused so you can set up; your first edit lifts the hold. You can also open any saved song or draft for editing (it keeps its exact arrangement), or paste a code in the menu's CODE dialog and choose EDIT to fork it into a new session.
EZ and ADVANCED
CREATE opens in EZ with the core tools: NOTES, PLAY, EDIT BEAT, ROLL, FILL and UNDO / REDO. The MORE ยป pill reveals the advanced editors (TWEAK, MELODY, MIX, INSTR) plus construction tools like ARRANGE, HARMONY, TIMELINE, SFX, CINEMA, PERFORM and HISTORY. Flip between them any time; nothing is lost and the choice is remembered.
Layers and FILL
The stem chips on the left are your layer switches: tap to bring a part in or out, dice for a different generated part, padlock to freeze it (see Stems). The FILL panel is the generator as a seed tool; everything it drops in becomes editable, not a black box:
- Drum beat and bassline: fresh generated patterns dropped straight into the editing grids.
- Melody to ROLL: a generated lead phrase converted into notes you can edit.
- Import MIDI: load a .mid from any DAW, choose which parts land, quantize (including as-played), transpose, and optionally adopt its tempo and key. Drum tracks can land in the beat grid.
- Import audio: decode an MP3, FLAC, WAV, OGG or M4A and play it locked to the transport so you can remix along it. Session only: it never enters codes or exports.
- Full song: every stem on, instantly. Clear all: back to the canvas (UNDO brings everything back).
EDIT BEAT: the drum grid
Seven lanes (kick, snare, hat, open hat, clap, ride, rim) by 16 steps per bar; phones page the grid in halves. Tapping a cell cycles ON, ACCENT, GHOST, OFF, three velocity tiers with distinct looks. SELECT mode opens a per-step detail strip with probability (does it always play?) and micro-timing (nudge it off the grid). RANDOM writes a fresh beat that fits both the genre and the tempo, RESTORE brings back the song's original pattern, and three preset slots SAVE and LOAD patterns. A tab at the top switches to the bass grid: four pitch rows (OCT, 5TH, ROOT, LOW) by 16 steps with its own RANDOM, AUTO and CLEAR. Edits are live and hand edits win over the generator.
TWEAK: the sound in plain words
Every TWEAK row is a plain-language knob stepped with arrows: the drum kit and beat style, the bass sound, the chord sound, the sound of the notes you tap, the topline on or off, and the pad character (WARM, BRIGHT, AIRY, DARK, CHOIR, GLASS, STRINGS and more). One line of help text under each row says what it does; nothing is jargon.
ROLL and MELODY
ROLL is the piano roll for your own notes: place, stretch and audition notes on a grid, with extra tracks (imported MIDI parts keep their names) that have their own mute and volume. On a controller the roll has a proper cursor: focus the grid, confirm to enter, move by step and pitch, confirm to place. MELODY edits the song's generated lead phrase itself.
INSTR and MIX
INSTR picks the instrument for each playable lane. MIX is the mixer: levels and pan per layer, so your balance is part of the track.
Nothing gets lost
Sessions auto-draft as you work, and drafts live under SAVED. Undo and redo cover your edits, the beat grid has its own local undo on top, and HISTORY (in ADVANCED) walks back through bigger moves. Your finished track exports as audio, stems or MIDI (see Exporting), and everything you build rides a share code: RMX1 for the song, and RMX2 project codes that reopen a full CREATE project in the studio.
